During this workshop we will discuss Web 2.0 (or social media) technologies from a pedagogical and community of practice perspective. A number of learning theories can be well applied to the use of Web 2.0 technologies, this workshop will look at how social media applies the practices described by constructivist, progressive inquiry and connectivist learning theories.
Who and why you should attend: Everyone interested should attend
Applying sound pedagogical theory to social media brings it into an educational reality we cannot ignore. It is not if these technologies will play a role in learning but when.
